Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm. 

Soldier presence in Te Kūiti will be prominent from Saturday afternoon and will increase up to 100+ on the Sunday for the funeral.

Compliance Technician

We are seeking a Compliance Technician to join the Waitomo District Council.

Applicants will need to have an understanding of resource consents, be able to interpret consent conditions and apply established reporting frameworks to ensure compliance.

You will support our existing compliance programme, maintain databases of consent conditions and monitor compliance across the Three Waters, Solid Waste and Drinking Water areas.

Ideally you will have previous experience in the environmental science/resource consent compliance field, have sound analytical skills and excellent communication skills, including report writing.

If you are able to manage competing priorities, have good time management and the desire to work with and contribute to a strong team - we want to hear from you.
