Large scale works along Carroll Street/SH3 in New Year

Significant traffic diversions will be in place in the New Year as large-scale works will be undertaken along Carroll Street/SH3 in Te Kūiti. From mid-January 2025, Carroll Street/SH3 will be reduced to one lane to allow for Council’s contractor Camex Civil to replace a large watermain. Read more

Road works at Rora Street level crossing
Higgins Contractors will be undertaking a full replacement of the Rora Street level crossing near Te Kūiti Primary School. The work will be carried out over two days from 5am on Sunday 19 January 2025 through to midnight on Monday 20 January. Traffic diversions will be in place.
Please note this work is separate to the railway crossing works being undertaken by Fulton Hogan at the southern end of Rora Street at the same time.

Dog Registration Fees for the 2021/2022

Public Notice is hereby given that the Dog Registration Fees for the 2021/2022 financial year have been set by Council resolution in various categories as set out below:
Registration Fee (including GST) where paid by or on 31 July 2021. Fees apply to dogs aged 3 months and over, and are for the year 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 registration.

Urban owner (as per definition) $118.00
Urban spayed/neutered dogs $90.00
Selected owner $70.00
Rural owner $50.00
Dangerous dog 150% of applicable fee
50% penalty fee applies from 1 August 2021.

Pound, Seizure and Miscellaneous Fees
Seizure $65.00
Impound – First (registered) $70.00
Impound – First (unregistered) $100.00
Second $138.00
Third or subsequent $200.00
Sustenance (per day) $15.00

NOTE: Any fees incurred in the seizure, custody, sustenance and
transport of a dog are required to be paid before its release from
impoundment.
Rehoming of unwanted / unclaimed dogs (unregistered) will be the applicable registration fee and microchipping fee.

Replacement tags $5.00
Microchipping fee $25.00
Application for permit to keep more than two dogs (urban) $40.00
Surrender fee $40.00

This notice is given under Sections 37 and 68 of the Dog Control Act 1996.
