Over the next few weeks, Waitomo District Council contractors will be working throughout the district upgrading water mains connected to the town water supply.

The installation of backflow preventers helps safeguard against contamination from greywater. Each upgrade should take about one to two hours to complete and during this time your water will be turned off. Once the upgrade has been completed, we recommend you run the cold tap for 5 minutes on full to flush out any sediment.

Please note: Council is not installing water meters, and has no plans to do so.
