Postponement again of official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards

Waitomo District Council, with the support of Ngāti Rōrā, have made a call to POSTPONE the official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards for the second time.This is due to the heavy rain forecast for the rest of the week. The ground will be wet and the weather looks worse for Friday (26 September 2025). It's important to us that this significant occasion is done correctly. We will schedule another blessing to be held later in the year when the weather has improved.

With the Christmas and New Year holiday period behind us, here is a reminder of our Waste Transfer Stations’ opening days and hours under the current COVID-19 Orange Traffic Light system.

 

Please note:

All visitors MUST wear a face covering

All visitors will be required to scan QR codes/or complete a manual entry form

Access to sites will be controlled, so please be patient

 

TE KUITI: (from 19 January 2022)

Wednesday - open 9am - 3pm.

Friday - open 9am - 3pm.

Saturday – open 9am - 3pm.

Closed all other days

All waste and recycling accepted.

 

PIOPIO:

Monday – open 9am – 3pm.

Sunday – open 1pm - 5pm.

Closed all other days

All waste and recycling accepted

 

MANIAITI/BENNEYDALE:

Sunday – open 9am - 1pm.

Closed all other days.

All waste and recycling accepted.

 

KINOHAKU:

Monday – open 9am - 1pm.

Sunday – open 12pm - 4pm.

MAROKOPA:
