Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.
Water shutdown notice - William Street and adjoining streets
A water shutdown will be happening from 9am to 3.30pm today along William Street and adjoining streets. This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to commission a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

WDC Customer Services - Our Queen Street office closes at 4pm on Friday 21 October and reopens at 9am Tuesday, 25 October. Our call centre operates 24/7. For After Hours services please call 0800 932 4357.

Te Kūiti i-SITE Visitor Information Centre - Closed

Waitomo District Aquatic Centre - Open regular hours

Waitomo District Landfill and Awakino Transfer Station - Closed as usual

Maniaiti/Benneydale, Kinohaku and Marokopa Transfer Stations - Closed Monday 24 October

Piopio Transfer Station - Closed Sunday 23 October and Monday 24 October
