Strong Wind Watch
Metservice has issued a strong wind watch for our district from midnight Wednesday
The watch is valid from 12am Wednesday 16 April to 3am on Friday 18 April.
Easterly winds may approach severe gale in exposed places. High chance of upgrading to a Warning.
Damage to trees, powerlines, and unsecured structures possible. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
Te Anga Road - update as at 10am
Te Anga Road will open from 11am this morning. Traffic controls will still be in place.

Closure of Road/Street To Ordinary Vehicular Traffic - ANZAC Day Te Kūiti

PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Waitomo District Council, for the purpose of the Te Kūiti ANZAC Day Parade and Ceremony 2025 will close the following roads/streets to ordinary vehicular traffic for the periods indicated:

Te Kūiti ANZAC Day Parade

Date: Friday 25 April 2025

Period of Closure: 6am to 7.30am

Streets/Roads: 32 Taupiri Street to 40 Taupiri Street

Period of Closure: 6am to 10.30am

Streets/Roads: King Street East from Taupiri Street to Jennings Street

Alternative Routes: Rora Street, Sheridan Street, Esplanade, South End Loop.
