Nicholls and Uttinger Civil have been awarded the contract to undertake slip repair works on Rangitoto Road following damage caused by the July 2025 storm event. The work site is located west of Te Ahoroa Marae.

To safely complete these remediation works, Rangitoto Road will operate under temporary traffic management for the duration of construction. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane and controlled by traffic signals.

During construction hours (7:00am to 5:00pm), road users may experience delays of up to 15 minutes, depending on the activities being undertaken at the site. Outside of these hours, traffic signals will remain in place, however delays are expected to be minimal.

Construction is expected to begin during the week of 17 June 2026, with the programme currently on track for completion by the end of August 2026 (weather permitting).
