A planned water shutdown has been scheduled for Wednesday 21 May 2025 from 9am. Affected areas include a section King Street West, Tawhana Street and a small part of Queen Street in Te Kūiti. The reason is to replace a water valve. Thank you for your understanding.

Shake Out Earthquake Drill

Today is SHAKE OUT DAY!!! - 27 October at 9.30am
Shake Out takes place across the world to remind people of the right action to take during an earthquake. Drop, Cover and Hold.
Look for safe places to wait it out in your home, at work or when you’re out and about.
You can also practice a tsunami hīkoi (evacuation walk) if you're in a coastal area.
Remember - if it's long and strong, get gone!
