Planned Water shutdown notice - Tuesday 17 February 2026
A day-long water shutdown will be happening on Tuesday 17 February from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Boddies Terrace, Wesley Terrace, Tawa Street, Matai Street, William Street and Anzac Street.  This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to install a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

Shake Out Earthquake Drill

Today is SHAKE OUT DAY!!! - 27 October at 9.30am
Shake Out takes place across the world to remind people of the right action to take during an earthquake. Drop, Cover and Hold.
Look for safe places to wait it out in your home, at work or when you’re out and about.
You can also practice a tsunami hīkoi (evacuation walk) if you're in a coastal area.
Remember - if it's long and strong, get gone!
