Impounded dogs and stock

This page lists all of the impounded dogs and stock, and includes a picture of the animal. The animal will be listed for 7 days.

Once an impounded dog has been held for 7 days and not claimed by its owner, it then becomes the property of the Waitomo District Council.

If your dog is impounded and it's registration is current, it may be quickly returned to you - provided it hasn't been seized because it has attacked a person or animal.

We only release dogs once all impounding fees and other additional fees (i.e. sustenance) are paid.

Please contact our Customer Services Team if you are interested in becoming the new owner of one of these dogs as they come available.

To report a dog contact us on 0800 932 4357.

Dogs for Adoption

We are looking for a forever home for our beautiful Bobble!

Bobble is about 12 months old and is female Sharpei crossed with something small.

She had a tough start to life and is now looking for a family home to call her own. She will need someone who will continue her basic training and will love her unconditionally.

She is good with other dogs once she realises they are not going to hurt her, but we are not sure about cats.

She loves human contact, is very gentle and a real snuggle bug. She will need to be desexed but is currently up to date with worming, flea treatment, parvo shots and comes currently registered.

If you would like to give Bobble a forever home, please contact us on 0800 932 4357.
