Weather Warning for Waitomo
Waitomo District is expecting a significant amount of rainfall over the next few days. Once again, this will likely have a major impact on our roads and farmland. We ask residents to please take caution and do not venture out into the weather if you do not need to. And if possible, move stock to higher ground.
Surface flooding and excess water may also slow the drainage of the stormwater and wastewater network. We are not expecting any significant impact to the network, water will just take a little longer to drain.
We will keep you updated as information comes to hand.
Stay safe.

Kerbside Refuse and Recycling Collection Service

26 Feb 2014, 9:29 AM

You may notice some changes to the kerbside collection service.

Envirowaste have notified Waitomo District Council that due to an accident that took place last week on Waitete Road Te Kuiti, one of the dedicated kerbside collection trucks will be out of order until further notice.

Waitomo District Council wish to advise all residents that a temporary solution has been put in place and involves having one refuse truck and one recycling truck undertake the collection in tandem, whilst one purpose-build refuse truck operates on its own.  In other words, the kerbside collection will be business as usual with no impact on service delivery. WDC will keep residents updated on this topic.
