Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.
Water shutdown notice - William Street and adjoining streets
A water shutdown will be happening from 9am to 3.30pm today along William Street and adjoining streets. This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to commission a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

Update on Rural Fire Season

The following information provides an update on the current rural fire season:

Waitomo District Council will be issuing permits starting Monday 9 February 2015, with an expiry date of Friday 20th February 2015.

Principal Rural Fire Officer David Brown, will review the conditions next week and provide an update on the status of the Rural Fire Season.
