Water shutdown - Te Kumi Road

There will be an urgent water shutdown this morning to fix a major water leak along Te Kumi Road, Te Kūiti. We apologise for the inconvenience, and for those who experienced water issues last night.

Heavy rain warning

A heavy rain warning has been issued for Waitomo District and Taranaki.  The warning is valid for 18 hours from 11am Saturday 18 April to 5am Sunday 19 April.

Expect 80 to 110mm of rain, likely more about Taranaki Maunga. Peaks rates of 15 to 25 mm/h in possible thunderstorms.

The river levels are quite high currently and given the level of ground saturation there could be some impacts from this.
