Planned Water shutdown notice - Tuesday 17 February 2026
A day-long water shutdown will be happening on Tuesday 17 February from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Boddies Terrace, Wesley Terrace, Tawa Street, Matai Street, William Street and Anzac Street.  This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to install a new watermain line. Upgrade of Piopio's public toilets gets underway this month

ESN Construction (of Hamilton) will commence the upgrade of the Piopio public toilets this month.

The project involves the construction of a new toilet facility in Kara Park. The existing facility will be demolished once the new toilets have been completed and are operational.

WDC included a project in the Long Term Plan 2012-22, to upgrade the public toilet facilities.

Excavation work is planned to start on Monday 18th May, weather permitting. The project is expected to be finished in early August 2015.
