Large scale works along Carroll Street/SH3 in New Year

Significant traffic diversions will be in place in the New Year as large-scale works will be undertaken along Carroll Street/SH3 in Te Kūiti. From mid-January 2025, Carroll Street/SH3 will be reduced to one lane to allow for Council’s contractor Camex Civil to replace a large watermain. Read more

Road works at Rora Street level crossing
Higgins Contractors will be undertaking a full replacement of the Rora Street level crossing near Te Kūiti Primary School. The work will be carried out over two days from 5am on Sunday 19 January 2025 through to midnight on Monday 20 January. Traffic diversions will be in place.
Please note this work is separate to the railway crossing works being undertaken by Fulton Hogan at the southern end of Rora Street at the same time.

Notice of planned Water Shutdown - Mokau

Waitomo District Council will be undertaking planned works to replace the water main on North Street Mokau (weather permitting).

There will be a temporary interruption of the water supply on Tuesday 18 October 2016, from 8am - 5pm:

  • MOKAU: Oha St, Rangi Rd, Main Rd, Aria Tce, Point Rd, Tainui St, Takarei Tce, North St, Te Kauri Rd, Te Mahoe Rd, Main Rd.

If adverse weather conditions does not allow work to take place, then work will be rescheduled for Wednesday 19 October 2016, from 8am – 5pm.

Please be assured that these works will be carried out as quickly as possible. While undertaking this work, WDC will make every effort to minimise the impact on supply. In the event that temporary deterioration of your water quality occurs, it is advisable to first run your garden tap then the others for several minutes to remove any air bubbles and to restore water clarity.  Please do not run water through in house filters before taps are running clear.
