AA Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency services

20 Feb 2017

Waitomo District Council took up a Commission Agent role with the AA Licencing Agency (AALA) in 2004. The aim was to secure local delivery of an essential service for the benefit of the Waitomo community.

The service has been provided to Waitomo District for the past 12 years, and we are one of the few Councils in New Zealand, which has provided this service to its community.

WDC has been in discussion with the New Zealand Automobile Association (NZAA), for the past two years, about the commission agency arrangement.

Recently VTNZ confirmed its wish to take up new local services through the existing Te Kuiti operations. NZAA has settled on a new delivery arrangement which will take effect on Monday 27 February 2017. The AA Licencing Agency service will be delivered by VTNZ Te Kuiti – located on Carroll Street.

We are pleased with this outcome, and that local access to the service is retained for our District.
