The large elm tree on Lawrence Street, in Te Kūiti will soon be felled.

A recent report has confirmed the tree has Dutch elm disease and must be removed. The removal aligns with Waikato Regional Council's directive following the Dutch elm disease outbreak in Waikato a few years ago.

The work is scheduled to take place on 24-25 February.
