Planned Water shutdown notice - Tuesday 17 February 2026
A day-long water shutdown will be happening on Tuesday 17 February from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Boddies Terrace, Wesley Terrace, Tawa Street, Matai Street, William Street and Anzac Street.  This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to install a new watermain line. Dutch elm to be removed

The large elm tree on Lawrence Street, in Te Kūiti will soon be felled.

A recent report has confirmed the tree has Dutch elm disease and must be removed. The removal aligns with Waikato Regional Council's directive following the Dutch elm disease outbreak in Waikato a few years ago.

The work is scheduled to take place on 24-25 February.
