It’s been a busy few months for our roading department with several projects on the go.

Mangaotaki Road in Piopio has been completed after receiving drainage improvements and a road rehabilitation.

Ngapaenga, Walker Te Anga and Te Waitere Roads have been reinstated following storm damage, and another section of Te Anga Road near Waipuna Road is nearing completion.

It was a tricky start to this slip repair project with ground water causing further slips during construction. Following a two-day full road closure, the team got the site under control and construction of the retaining wall has been progressing well since. We expect to have this site complete and the road open in both directions this month.

Repairs to Rangitoto Road are progressing well.
