🔴 Severe Thunderstorm Warning - parts of Waitomo District 🔴
Metservice has issued a RED severe thunderstorm warning for part of the Waitomo District.
The thunderstorms are expected to be accompanied by torrential rain.
Impact: Torrential rain can cause surface and/or flash flooding about streams, gullies and urban areas, and make driving conditions extremely hazardous.
🔴 Please do not travel if you do not have to, and stay safe and drive to the conditions if you need to travel in this weather.

PLEASE DRIVE SAFE THROUGH AWAKINO GORGE
We are aware that Awakino River is rising quite quickly. If you are travelling along SH3 in the Awakino Gorge, please exercise extreme caution.
Please do not undertake any unnecessary travel, but drive safely and to the conditions if you have to.

Notice of temporary interruption to water supply - William Street, Te Kūiti

Waitomo District Council has contracted McIndoe Group to replace a water main on William Street, Te Kūiti.

In order to connect this new watermain, McIndoe Group will need to temporarily interrupt the water supply to affected properties on either of the following days below.

Thursday 13 April 2023 from 9am to 4pm

Or the below date if works cannot be carried out on 13 April.

Friday 14 April 2023 from 9am to 4pm.

Residents will be notified in person before this happens.

Please be assured that these works will be carried out as quickly as possible.

If you experience unclean water flow afterwards, please wait 10 minutes and then run an outside tap for at least five minutes or until water runs clear. This is to avoid any unclean water entering your household system.
