Metservice has issued a Heavy Rain Watch for Northern Taranaki, and Waitomo. The watch is valid from 6am to 6pm Friday 15 November. Heavy rain, and amounts may approach warning criteria. Rain easing from the west during Friday afternoon. Moderate chance of upgrading to a warning.

Opening Hours - Tuesday 19 November 2024

Proposal for Temporary Closure of Road/Street To Ordinary Vehicular Traffic - Matariki Festival

PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Waitomo District Council, for the purpose of the Te Kūiti Matariki Festival 2023 proposes to temporarily close the following roads/streets to ordinary vehicular traffic for the periods indicated:

Te Kūiti Matariki Festival 2023

Date: Saturday 24 June 2023

Period of Closure: 8.30am to 6pm

Streets/Roads:  Te Kūiti Township - King Street East will be closed by the memorial bridge approach and at the intersections of Esplanade and Jennings Street

Alternative Routes: Taupiri Street and Esplanade

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge notice of objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 5pm Thursday 15 June 2023 at the office of Waitomo District Council, Queen Street, Te Kūiti.
