Waitomo District Changes to Kerbside Collection Schedule

The Waitomo district is changing its kerbside collection schedule to improve service quality and processing efficiency.

Commencing from Monday, 1 July 2024, a revised timetable will be implemented. This will affect a substantial number of households across Te Kūiti, Piopio, Mōkau, Awakino, and Waitomo Village, with adjustments to the day of the week their recycling and blue refuse bags are collected.

Waitomo District Council General Manager Infrastructure Services, Shyamal Ram, says modifying our waste collection routes is essential for improving the service we provide to our community.

“These changes not only address the needs of our current customers but also ensure the efficiency and reliability of our kerbside service demands in the district."

The changes to the kerbside collection service is a huge logistical change affecting a few thousand properties in our district.
