Any member(s) of the public wishing to speak at a Council meeting are required to gain approval from the Mayor at least two working days prior to the meeting.
An invitation is extended to members of the public to attend these meetings for observation purposes.
Meetings of Council are webcast in real time to the Waitomo District Council website and are also made available for viewing on demand as soon as reasonably practicable following the meeting.
A copy of the agendas for these meetings will be available on Council’s Website two working days before the meeting.
Workshop Schedule
Below is a Schedule of 2024 Waitomo District Council and Committee workshops. All workshops start at 9am in the Council Chambers, Queen Street, Te Kūiti unless publicly notified otherwise.
Council at its Meeting on 26 March 2024 resolved that going forward all workshops would be open to the public by default, on a case-by-case basis, and when a workshop matter is to be public excluded the reasons for such would be provided. No workshops are to be livestreamed or recorded for later webcasting. A schedule of workshops will be included on the "Council Meetings" page of the Waitomo District Council website, and Workshop Order Papers only will be published on the Waitomo District Council website.
Where items are to be considered with the public excluded, the reasons for this will be included on the Order Paper.
Note: This Schedule can change with little notice as Workshops are often called at very short notice.
