Recycle household goods at Waitomo District Landfill

The Recycle Shop at the Waitomo District Landfill will accept household goods that are in good condition that someone else may want to purchase and use again, such as books, furniture, gardening equipment, toys, bicycles, dinnerware and more.

The Waitomo District Landfill is located on Williams Street and is open 9am-4pm Wednesday to Sunday.  For more information phone 07-878-5230.

Waitomo District Animal Control

Microchipping has proven to be very successful in tracing owners of lost dogs and helping to reunite them with their owners. The microchip provides a secure, life-long unique identification number for your dog. This number is recorded on both Waitomo District Council records and the National Dog Database. We provide a microchipping clinic every Friday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. The cost is $20.00 per dog. Please contact our Customer Services Team on 07-878-0800, to book an appointment or to find out more information about our service.

Community Partnership Fund

Are you planning a community project within the District? We are calling for applications to the Community Partnership Fund for projects such as community building renovations, urban infrastructure projects, youth services/facilities and health/social programmes. Projects must demonstrate strong links to one or more of Council’s identified community outcomes.

Applications must be received by 5pm Friday 18th November 2016.

To find out more information visit Council’s website or contact Donna Macdonald Community Development Coordinator on 07 878 0803 or 0800 932 4357.
