Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio

Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.

Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.

Water shutdown notice - William Street and adjoining streets

A water shutdown will be happening from 9am to 2pm today along William Street and adjoining streets. This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to commission a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

Works underway on State Highways

There are various projects currently underway on State Highways in the Waitomo District. Please note that Waitomo District Council does not manage the State Highway network.
