Planned Water shutdown notice - Tuesday 17 February 2026
A day-long water shutdown will be happening on Tuesday 17 February from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Boddies Terrace, Wesley Terrace, Tawa Street, Matai Street, William Street and Anzac Street.  This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to install a new watermain line. Waitomo District Council’s customer services moves to Te Kūiti’s main street.

From Monday 15 May, all customer services will be available at the Railway Building next to Stoked Eatery on Rora Street.

Manager - Customer Services, Kat Brown-Merrin says the shift to Rora Street is about bringing Council’s services to the community and providing more ease of access.

“The community and our customers are important to us. Our aim is to have more community presence, and by moving to a more centralised location we can provide a more user friendly and accessible customer service.”

Opening hours will be from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and we can still be contacted 24/7 on 0800 932 4357.
