Large scale works along Carroll Street/SH3 in New Year

Significant traffic diversions will be in place in the New Year as large-scale works will be undertaken along Carroll Street/SH3 in Te Kūiti. From mid-January 2025, Carroll Street/SH3 will be reduced to one lane to allow for Council’s contractor Camex Civil to replace a large watermain. Read more

Road works at Rora Street level crossing
Higgins Contractors will be undertaking a full replacement of the Rora Street level crossing near Te Kūiti Primary School. The work will be carried out over two days from 5am on Sunday 19 January 2025 through to midnight on Monday 20 January. Traffic diversions will be in place.
Please note this work is separate to the railway crossing works being undertaken by Fulton Hogan at the southern end of Rora Street at the same time.

Proposal for Temporary Closure of Road/Street To Ordinary Vehicular Traffic - Hamilton Car Club Rally

PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Waitomo District Council, for the purpose of the Hamilton Car Club Rally 2021 proposes to temporarily close the following roads/streets to ordinary vehicular traffic for the periods indicated:

STAGE NAME Hauturu Road – Sunday 31st October 2021 Road closure from 09:00am to 05.00pm (Waitomo DC)

Closure Starts at 1.1KM On Hauturu Rd (from Te Anga End.)

Continues beyond Waitomo Council Boundary at 1343 into Otorohanga Boundary and onto Kaimango Road.

Side road Affected Toi Road, Waitomo

Side road Affected Coes Road, Waitomo

Side road Affected Mahoe Road, Waitomo

 

Note: To assist with the stage security, the closure is also to include 300 meters of each adjoining road, from where it intersects with this road closure being applied for.

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge notice of objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 5:00 pm Tuesday 15 October 2021 at the office of Waitomo District Council, Queen Street, Te Kuiti.
