How do I join?

You can now join online here

You can choose between an all resources, or a digital membership to access online resources only.
(For an all resources membership you will be required to show I.D and proof of address at the library within two weeks of completing your membership form)

Can I pay for my items tomorrow?  

All items need to be paid for at the time they are issued.

How do I renew my books?

You can renew your books online, by phone or in person at the Library.

How long can I use the internet for and how much does it cost?

You are able to have one half hour session per day.  The use of the internet is free and provided for under the Aotearoa People's Network Kaharoa initiative.

Are you open over the weekend?

We are not currently open during the weekend.  Our online resources are available 24/7.

Can I access the catalogue from home?

The library catalogue is available 24/7 here .
You can place holds on items and library staff will put them aside for collection as soon as they become available. There is no charge for this service.

Lost your card or forgotten your pin?

You need to contact us immediately.  The Library Team will reset your pin and/or issue you with a new card next time you come to the Library. Please bring photo ID with you.

Does it cost anything to request a book?

Requests are free.

How will I know when my request is ready to collect?

The Library Team will contact you by phone, email or text message.

What if I can't find an item I want?

You can request the item from other Libraries.  Please ask the Library Team for an interloan request.

What does it cost to borrow and how long can I keep an item?

Are there fines for late returns?

Over 90% of the library's collection is fine free, with the exclusion of the Bestseller Collection, Kit Collection and DVD's.
