Notice of inspection - Te Kuiti urban stormwater network

29 Sep 2015

It is Waitomo District Council’s responsibility to manage the urban stormwater network and ensure safe and efficient operation of the network.

WDC would like to notify the public that Council’s Water Services team will be inspecting the urban stormwater network in Te Kuiti, over the month of October 2015 (weather permitting).

Council will be recording important asset data about the location and condition of stormwater pipes, drains and manholes that will enable us to identify any assets that need to be renewed or replaced. We will also use this information to plan and budget for future upgrades as part of our next Long Term Plan.

Our staff will be contacting property owners and tenants directly, to provide notification of the intended inspection of stormwater assets located on private property.

Under section 17.5 of WDC’s Water Services Bylaw, property owners and tenants must allow us to access private property in order to inspect the stormwater pipes located on that property.

You can view and download a copy of that Bylaw which records Council’s responsibilities with regard to stormwater management, under the related links on this webpage or to request a copy, contact our Customer Services team.

Enquiries regarding the inspection of the stormwater network should be made to Andreas Senger - Manager Water Services on (07) 878 0800 or freephone 0800 932 4357.
