Slip on Te Waitere Road – please drive safe

Council is aware of a significant slip on Te Waitere Road. Currently the road is down to one lane with priority give way traffic control in place. Given there is poor weather forecast towards the end of the week, we encourage those needing to pass through this site to be vigilant and drive safely and to the conditions.

Notification of bridge closure - Mokau River bridge, State Highway 30

28 Sep 2015

The NZ Transport Agency advises the Mokau River bridge, located 13km southeast of Te Kuiti on State Highway 30 (SH 30), will be closed to all traffic from 9am on Monday 5 October 2015 through to 4pm Sunday 11 October 2015.

Repair work is necessary to keep the roading network up to standard and ensure the bridge remains safe for all road users.

During this period a detour will be in place via Kopaki Road, SH4 and SH3 for those travelling north and the reverse for those travelling south. This detour is 12km longer and is expected to add approximately 15 minutes to travel times. Please make allowance in your journey plan for this additional travel time.

Advisory and detour signage will be positioned on SH30 at Kopaki Rail Overbridge and just out from Te Kuiti near the Waitete Rugby Club grounds.

Access to private properties on or off SH30 will be maintained at all times.

  • If you have any enquires regarding the bridge closure, please contact the NZ Transport Agency's contractor - Conspec Construction on (07) 541 0077 or after hours on 021 682 915.
