Reusable household items accepted at transfer station

We provide a reuse shop which is located at the entrance to the Landfill transfer station on Williams Street Te Kuiti.  We accept and sell household goods that are in reusable condition that might otherwise go to landfill. 

If you are looking for a pre-loved toys, books, crockery, or furniture at a reasonable price, then drop in and have a look around.The next time you have a spring clean, consider separating the reusable items for donation. Our Transfer Station Attendant reserves the right to decline unsuitable items. The Transfer Station is open 9am - 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday. Ph: (07) 878 5230.

Microchipping is a permanent means of identification that links dogs to their owners

Microchipping is a separate process from dog registration. You must register your dog every year, but you only need to microchip your dog once. Under the Dog Control Act 1996, all new puppies need to be microchipped within two months of when they are registered for the first time.

You also need to microchip your dog if:

• you are registering your dog for the first time after 1 July 2006
• your dog is classified as dangerous
• your dog is classified as menacing

Dogs that are impounded will not be released from the pound until they havebeen microchipped.

Working farm dogs used solely for the purpose of herding or droving stock are exempt from microchipping.
