Senseless vandalism strikes again!

21 Aug 2023, 4:16 PM

It is regrettable that another incident of senseless vandalism has occurred over the weekend in the grassed area by the Les Munro Centre. This senseless act of vandalism not only disrupts the peaceful environment that the Council aims to provide, but also places an avoidable burden on the ratepayers who contribute to the upkeep of our towns.

Despite this setback, we extend our appreciation to our diligent Internal Services team, whose swift response has already commenced the process of restoring the area. Their dedication to maintaining our public spaces does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for their commitment.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the vigilant members of our community who promptly reported this act of vandalism, your willingness to report such incidents enable the council to respond promptly and rectify the situation.

We wish to assure the community that the Council takes these matters seriously, we firmly believe that, through collaborative efforts, we can prevent further instances of vandalism and your continued support and engagement is invaluable.

We possess a description of the involved vehicle and have obtained footage that will be shared with the New Zealand Police.
