Fees and Charges

At the Council meeting on 27 June 2023, Council adopted the fees and charges for 2023/24. These fees and charges apply from 1 July 2023.

Due to the impact of rising costs Council has increased most fees and charges between 5% and 7% in line with inflation. This ensures costs are recovered so that Council services are not subsidised further by rates.

These increases include fees relating to the Resource Management Act 1991 and the Food Act 2014.

Some of the fees and charges remain unchanged, while some have increased more significantly. Additional fees and changes have been put in place to better recover costs in some areas, these include:

  • Travel costs for building compliance
  • Alcohol Licensing
  • Traffic Management

The schedule of Fees and Charges will be available on our website from 30 June 2023.
You can request a hardcopy of the fees and charges by contacting our Customer Services Team on 0800 932 4357 or email
