Heavy Rain Watch - What you need to know

Metservice NZ has issued a Heavy Rain Watch for the Waikato region, in place from 2am–3pm, Wednesday 1 February.

Given the large amount of rainfall that our district has experienced over the past few days, we are urging residents to continue to take care and stay aware of the conditions in their area. Further rainfall could quickly exacerbate existing slips, river levels and produce further flooding quite quickly.

Agrecovery Rural Recycling Programme

20 Apr 2017, 12:02 PM

Agrecovery, in conjunction with Waikato Regional Council, will shortly be holding collections for unwanted or expired agrichemicals in the Waikato region.

This service is free or subsidised for the majority of chemicals thanks to the support of 65 brand owners and the Regional Council.

How it works:

Booking your chemicals for disposal is simple:

Step 1 - Take an inventory: An inventory form is available online or you can request a postal booking form on 0800 247 326.

Step 2 - Book disposal: Book disposal online or return your booking form to Agrecovery, PO Box 1216, Hastings 4156.  Bookings must be received prior to the booking deadline.

Step 3 - Confirmation: Agrecovery will confirm your booking and, once the booking deadline has passed, advise if any costs apply to collect your chemicals.  You can then choose whether to proceed with all, part or none of the booking.  Collections take place in the months following confirmation.

The booking deadline for Waikato is Friday 26th May.
