Results of the 2019 resident survey were presented at Council’s meeting on 30 July.
Waitomo District Council (WDC) carries out a Resident Survey to better understand community views and to identify priorities for improvement in service delivery.
The survey is also used as a means to measure performance under Council’s performance management framework. There are 12 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that require the use of a resident satisfaction survey to measure actual performance. A total of 11 targets were achieved for the 2018/19 financial year which is an excellent performance result for WDC.
The survey was conducted by Versus Research on behalf of WDC, during June 2019. A total of 504 residents took part in the survey, of which 80% are ratepayers.
A wide range of activities are covered in the survey including roads and footpaths, water supply, cemeteries, public toilets, communications and engagement and customer service.
General Manager Strategy and Environment, Terrena Kelly said it was good to hear feedback from residents about Council’s performance.
“Overall there is a high level of satisfaction with Council’s services. We would like to thank residents for taking the time to participate in our survey,” Ms Kelly said.
The following infographic provides a summary of the survey results.
Congratulations to the winner of the Survey Prize Draw, Brenda Barrowcliffe of Piopio.
WDC’s financial and non-financial (activity) performance will be reported on through the Annual Report for the 2018/19 financial year.
