Waitomo District Council has contracted Camex Civil to install and connect new water mains to the existing network in Moa Street (SH3) and Tui Street in Piopio.

This will require a full water shutdown on Friday 24 November 2023 from 9am to 12pm.

Residents and businesses will be notified.

The following streets will be affected: Weka Street, Huia Street, Tui Street, Kiwi Street, corner SH3/Ruru Street, corner SH3/Kea Street, Kuratahi Street, SH3 (from Ruru/Kea Street until the last house heading back to Te Kūiti)

Please be assured that these works will be carried out as quickly as possible.

If you experience unclean water flow afterwards, please wait 10 minutes and then run an outside tap for at least five minutes or until water runs clear. This is to avoid any unclean water entering your household system.

This would be a great opportunity to collect the water in a bucket to pour on your vege garden or flower garden.
