Large scale works along Carroll Street/SH3 in New Year

Significant traffic diversions will be in place in the New Year as large-scale works will be undertaken along Carroll Street/SH3 in Te Kūiti. From mid-January 2025, Carroll Street/SH3 will be reduced to one lane to allow for Council’s contractor Camex Civil to replace a large watermain. Read more

Road works at Rora Street level crossing
Higgins Contractors will be undertaking a full replacement of the Rora Street level crossing near Te Kūiti Primary School. The work will be carried out over two days from 5am on Sunday 19 January 2025 through to midnight on Monday 20 January. Traffic diversions will be in place.
Please note this work is separate to the railway crossing works being undertaken by Fulton Hogan at the southern end of Rora Street at the same time.

Long Term Plan 2015-25 for Waitomo District

We are progressing well on a substantial planning process; the development of the 2015-25 LTP that began nearly 10 months ago.

Thank you to the people who provided feedback last year, on the areas that Council should focus on for the 10 year period, 2015-25. Your comments have been useful for our forward planning.

Our Consultation Document for the 2015-25 LTP and the policies and strategies that support it, are in the final stages of development.

We plan to distribute our Consultation Document to you starting 1 April 2015, for your consideration and feedback. 

In the CD you will be able to read about what the Council is proposing for our District and the financial impacts over the ten-year period.

Review of the Land Transport Bylaw 2010

Council invites interested persons to make written submissions on matters contained within the Land Transport Bylaw.

The Bylaw provides regulations to support the effective management, use and protection of Waitomo District Council’s roads and footpaths.
