Wastewater network inspections in Piopio and Maniaiti/Benneydale

Council contractors are currently in Maniaiti/Benneydale and Piopio townships inspecting sewer systems and drains as part of a project to identify potential risks to the network. As part of the inspections, staff may undertake visual checks on private stormwater and wastewater outlets including gully traps and downpipes.

Public Health Notice: Paralytic shellfish toxins

New Zealand Food Safety is advising the public not to collect or consume shellfish gathered from the Kawhia and Marokopa region due to the presence of paralytic shellfish toxins.
